How to Prevent Clothing Wrinkles
Wrinkled, frumpy clothes can destroy an entire well-thought-out outfit. We know how it goes. You check yourself in the mirror and everything is perfectly ironed, with no lines or creases in sight. By the time you make it to work, the drive there alone has ruined everything! Looking your best is not only important professionally, but helps you to feel your best as well! Oak Neck Cleaners has created a guide to help you keep your garments crisp and bright regardless of whether you’re going into the office, working from home, or hitting the city to run errands or grab a drink or bite to eat!
One of the first things you’ll need to do is learn to properly iron clothes that are completely dry. Even slightly damp clothing will wrinkle extremely quickly. What most people don’t realize when it comes to ironing is that they need to flip their clothes inside-out before starting. Guide your iron along the seam lines of your garments and set it to the exact heat setting on your clothing label. Go slow and never hold your iron down on any fabric for too long to avoid burns!
After ironing, use a good quality anti-wrinkle spray. Before putting them on, spray them liberally to prevent any creases or wrinkles throughout the day. It won’t eliminate every single wrinkle, but it will make a significant difference.
Once you’re out and about, it’s easy to forget about what could cause creases. When you’re sitting pull your clothes flat against your body and chair as much as you comfortably can. Smooth out the fabrics regularly to that it is taut against a surface. Keeping your legs bent at a 90-degree angle is also important. Crossing your legs causes the fabric of your bottoms to rub against each other and fold. If you’re in a dress or skirt, check to make sure none of the fabric is tucked between your legs.
